Ebullition Regulated by Pressure Variations in a Boreal Pit Lake

چکیده

Methane ebullition from lakes is an important contributor to atmospheric greenhouse gases. However, typically sampled at intervals greater than the duration of events, limiting our understanding factors controlling this flux. Here, we present high-frequency data a single site in boreal pit lake during open-water season between June 24 and 21 October 2018. We record every 30 min for first 2 months, then minute next months. During 4-month period, events were recorded. These generally lasted 2–4 days response low pressure systems. The peaks corresponded troughs pressure. provide empirical equations that incorporate threshold model time-series events. Minor gradual variations mud temperature had no apparent effect on observed

A Proposed Biological Survey of the Berkeley Pit Lake System

Very little is known about the organisms that are impacted by mine waste in the Berkeley Pit Lake System. However, it is known that if heterotrophic and autotrophic organisms are properly nutrified, they can bioremediate mine waste-influenced areas as a benefit of their physiological processes. However, before any type of bioremediation of an ecosystem can begin, it is essential to gain a funda...
